Have you checked your timing with a good timing light?

Maybe your timing is more retarded than you think?

John

I see you’re a 6 hour drive from the wizard of Mesa, AZ. The right tune is so critical to civil and safe power… if I was in your shoes, I know what I would do, assuming they’re familiar with your electromotive CPU. Rob a 7/11 or something if you have to.

I do some other minor compensations for high intake air temp, high engine temp, and cold engine temp. Engine is designed to run on super unleaded with a max boost of 0.9 bar.

The timing hole just above idle helps keep things smooth and consistent with or without the AC running.

I found having an advance in the mid 30's helped significantly under low load "cruise" conditions. My target AFR is ~0.97-0.98 steady state cruise and 0.8 at full boost.

Thanks for this map. I will actually make a tune with your timing values and see what it does. But I can’t imagine it will even run on its own. I wonder if the fact I still haven’t set up an idle stabilizer yet causes some of my issues.
Fourblades no I have not physically looked at timing with a light. So far I have only trusted the quality parts and display on my laptop. I think maybe I’ll try it today.
Thanks guys.

Ya I know but honestly this system is working really well. It might not be as easy I don’t know because I’ve never used anything else but it is effective and does what it is asked. It uses good sensors and inputs. I trust it I just would love to have someone more Knowledgeable tune this and run it.
I just got back from air and water in Newport california last night. The tune was great. I did some tuning on the way down on the road it was late 12-5am so not many cars on the road.
Basically re everted to the last tune from my Dyno test and made some highway adjustments. Ran well and kept afr’s and egt’s in the safe range. Still could use more tuning for tip-in and sharpness but faster on boost.
I want to have another Dyno tune and see where I am. But right now I need to rest. That trip was nuts for other reasons.

Sounds like you're well on the way to having this sorted : cool.

My timing map is similar to LeeS930's. I'm an amateur and my 3.0SC turbo puts down 296hp to wheels, with 0.5Bar

Timing on EFI systems should be checked when new or changes are made to be sure the timing wheel/sensor positioning is returning an accurate crank angle. Being off +/-5 degrees makes a big difference to power and engine safety. TDC Setup fields on the "advanced parameters" page can be used to adjust this on Electromotive.

Good point, I'll certainly do that. Currently trying to sort out a clutch issue. Good grief.
