Supercharger parts

I have an 87 3.2 Carrera M491 that my wife purchased for me as a birthday present. The car came with a supercharger set up that the previous owner installed to help with higher altitude in Colorado. After transporting the car to Florida almost 0 ft elevation it was not running great as the boost was set for higher altitude. I took the car to a local shop for a number of repairs and even though they were familiar with vintage Porsche's they couldn't do much for me in the way of getting the supercharger tuned as that is not really their specialty. I tried to call a couple of local tuners, but they did not seem interested to work on it. I guess if you can't just plug it in and manipulate it with a computer, there aren't many people who are interested in dealing with it. In desperation to be able to actually drive and appreciate the car I had a local shop remove the supercharger components and put the car back to stock. I had the shop save all of the parts. Even though it wasn't running smoothly with the supercharger, I immediately noticed the reduction of power when it was removed. A shame really, since it seems this type of system is a rarity on these cars from what I have come to find in my internet searches. Since receiving the car I have had the engine dropped all seals and gaskets replaced, paid for removal of the supercharger installed a new convertible top and replaced a lot of little needed items. I have come to find that the parts and labor for these cars is not inexpensive Is there a market for use supercharger parts? what would something like this be worth to someone who can really get it running right? Where should I post it? The previous Owner said it was a pro charger and was installed by a shop that does supercharging for patrol cars in Colorado. I have attached pics of the system before it was removed from the vehicle. Any help or input would be greatly appreciated. I

Garage
Just installing a larger pulley on the supercharger would have lowered the boost.

it's a shame they couldn't help you out. Those year 911s respond very well to supercharging.

Supercharger parts are occasionally to rarely available in the for sale section of this website. Do a search there and see what they went for. Usually, it's a Paxton supercharger. You were possibly maxing out your air sensor values and running lean. It's not good to be lean with boost.

Does anyone know of a shop in Sarasota area that would take something like this on?

I’m pretty confident how it was “tuned” and Todd Knighton of Protomotive would have gotten it dialed in I’m willing to bet.

That is a cool kit, never seen a Procharger on a 3.2. If it were me, I’d get a cheap intercooler from CX Racing or eBay and reinstall the kit, and get it “tuned”.

An M491 deserves the power to the aggressive looks IMO!
