AFR gauges

What are you folks using for AFR gauge setups these days? Eons ago on my first 930 I was using one from Innovate, probably just their base model, and had a bung welded about 10" up inside the tail pipe. Trying to talk myself into going there again. I don't need crazy data logging though that's probably standard anymore.
TIA.....

I am using a AEM, so far it works well. Removed the clock and made up a ring to adapt the size but I think there is a gauge that will fit right in properly. I didn't have a good location for the sensor one area slightly too close to the turbo the other too far, ended up going far. Also have a hand held Innovate.

Thanks for the AEM tip.
I didn't seem to have any issues with background ambient air where I had the sensor installed as close to the muffler exit as possible, a good 10" from the end of the tailpipe. Plenty of exhaust flow to negate any ambient air, or so I told myself.
How long is the wire harness? These things are made for front engine setups and if I recall with my Innovate I had to splice in extra wire

I think the other reason they want the sensor closer to engine is to maintain sensor temp. My gauge has an indicator on it and the heater is always on. Likely quicker response and more accurate being close to the turbo. I cant remember how long the cable was, I did order a longer one but not sure if it was for the AEM or Innovate, that was over 12 years ago.

I'm using a PLX with a 2 1/16" gauge from SpeedHut. I'm using a 2 gauge pod I got off Etsy that fits in the dash by replacing the ashtray. They have fonts and pointer styles that are relatively close to the VDO gauges.

Can you post pics and link to the pod?

I have used innovate for years and would buy this if I needed a new one:

https://www.innovatemotorsports.com/mtx-l-plus-digital-wideband-air-fuel-ratio-gauge-kit-8-ft.html

You would also need their extension cable to reach a mounting spot in the dash or console.

https://www.innovatemotorsports.com/18-ft-sensor-cable-for-use-with-bosch-lsu-4-9-o-sensor.html

Most recommend mounting the 02 bung between the turbo and the muffler.

Perhaps a silly question, but how are you routing the cable to the gage? Up the tunnel , or ?.

I'm using Innovate PSB-1 for many years now and its my favorite .. It has the best display and it doubles as a boost gauge and a stand alone boost controller if you want to. It also has many safety features as to boost cut when exceeding a certain boost level or going lean at a preset value.

Its been several years but if I remember correctly:
From the dash or console under the passenger side carpet near the door to the rear floorboard. Then through the hole in the floorboard below the right rear seat and along the floor pan next to the engine tied up out of the way. Then route it behind the rear bumper to the bung which should be between the turbo and the muffler and at a high angle so not to catch moisture in the exhaust. The 12 ft extension cable is needed.

i have the later AEm digital AFR wideband . The wires were not longer enough. I ending up splicing a few feet of wire into the harness i have mine in the shifter center console. i removed the ac controls and the cassette holders and made a triple pod for a vdo back up boost gauge , fuel pressure and the aem wide band. I ran the wires along the passenger side tunnel( outside ) then used that aluminum hvac duct tape to hold everting tight to the tunnel bottom corner. Then ran through the hole up into my engine bay . i ran extra wires for the other stuff plus it puts the afr plug up in the engine bay and out of the the elements. The AEM wide band came with a bosch sensor it lasted about 2 weeks . i didn't even bother contacting AEM because it was already two years old before i installed it and ebay ones were cheep i installed my bung at 10 o'clock directly off my turbo just before my the muffler. it reads instantly . i purchased a ebay bosch replacement. looked exactly like the Aem . That one failed quickly also. I went to the local Napa bought the same bosch one different box with a online registration code (that one was not cheep ) . The registration code is to prove it was a legit bosch and not counterfeit. This one has been working for over a year no no issues. the AFR gauge is a great tool to have it its a piece of mind . if something feels off you can usually tell if its in your head or an actual issue . Btw i really like the look of snlt930 analog afr gauge.

Stack AFR

I really like my Stack gauges. You'll need an extension: https://www.bmotorsports.com/shop/product_info.php/products_id/2170

CIS - Innovate
EFI - AEM all day, everyday, twice on Sunday

Innovate samples too much and can overload EFI’s self-tuning from my experience.

My AFR’s were so much cleaner after going from Innovate to AEM

Thanks. I'm still CIS so Innovate may be a good choice....which is what I had in the past.

I am monitoring AFR/Lambda on both banks so wanted a dual channel gauge. Ended up going with an Innovate dual channel Lamba gauge that came with the wiring harness and two Bosch O2 sensors. Can be set up to read AFR if you prefer. Works great and has been really helpful in the fuel map tuning and adjustment process.

Made a carbon fiber panel and mounted in my center console with the Innovate alcohol % and fuel temp gauge. Yes, AC is gone...for now.

No issues with the installation or getting them up and running properly. Also, there was plenty of wiring harness to run the wires from the O2 sensors to the center console. Could have run them up into the dash as well.
