If you looked at your speedometer.....

this is what acceleration of a modified 500+ hp 930 looks like:

Corvette Z06. Wow.

That is a hell of a car. Sounds dull though.

Craig 930 RS 02-18-2007 11:50 AM

When a friend and I ran at the track - he in his C6 Z06 and me in my 930:

He shifted ONCE out of turn 2 (2 to 3). I shifted 3 times (2 to 3, 4, 5).
Perhaps some of that dullness resides in the flexibility of it's engine.

That thing, died out after 120mph

Post 120 is where a Z06 absolutely creams a 930.
Ask me how I know.

Wow, fast as hell in the first 4 but 5th seems like it is geared way to high. MHO of course...

Craig 930 RS 02-19-2007 07:59 PM

It did to me too - bogging a bit perhaps

The former owner of my car had a friend with a Viper and they would go at it sometimes. He said the same exact thing, essentially he could keep well ahead of the Viper until about 115-120, and then the Viper was quicker above that speed.

I think the 930 aerodynamics really hit a brick wall at that speed.

Craig 930 RS 02-20-2007 10:55 AM

They do.

CD of a 911 is soething over .40, if memory serves correctly.
I think a Z06 has a pretty low CD (.29 ish?) - probably a fair amount lower than the Viper.

Vettes and Vipers look the same to me.
