.... just wonder if it's like any other car? Adjust the crank to TDC piston #1. Adjust the valves. Rotate crank 180, Adjust the valves... ect.
![]() I am familar with inline 4s and V8s, but have never done a boxer 6. Are there any other tricks that makes it more difficult?

930s rule the wasteland

ya 930s are a b-tch. after you get #1 cyl there are marks that divide the crank pulley into 1/3rds .when your done with #1 turn a 1/3rd and do the next cyl. you have to clear a lot of stuff out of the way and it will kick your arse the first time around but you will half your time the next time out. good luck

the turbo's are hard to reach the upper drivers side valve cover. it's easier to undo the back motor mounts and lower the engine about 6 inches and do it from underneath.

hmmm, sounds like fun.
Mine only have about 1,500 miles since the last adjust. I guess I better get a shop manual too.

The factory considers valve adjustments worthy of an engine pull. Sense you may only do it every 15,000 miles I prefer to pull the engine as well and check lots of stuff. Valve adjustments can be done with the engine in the car if you move the A/C and remove the BOV or you can do a partial drop of about 6".

I did a valve adjustment with the help of Oh Haha (Wayne) with the engine in the car. Once we removed all the emission stuff it was actually quite easy. I wouldn't want to try it with all that stuff still in there. I did take off some extra stuff cause I wanted to replace a couple parts. But I didn't have to for just an adjustment.
Just a tip, cause I took both lower covers and cleaned them up and when I went back the DS wouldn't fit cause it was the PS cover. Once I swapped them back it bolted on just fine. BTW we did the backside method which we both thought was much easier. http://www.pelicanparts.com/techarticles/911_backside_valveadjust/911_backside_valveadjust.htm
