911 SC Cam Timing Specs-Camgrinders Help!

I have been reading Wayne's book and noticed the cam timing specs state the valve lash on #1 and #4 should be set to 0.04" before timing the cams. Is this correct? I always thought the valve lash was at the operating spec of .1mm when timing. Wayne's book states to check Paul Friere's book for timing at the .1mm lash value. That book states cam timing in degrees....got enough tools for now, thank you. Don't want to buy a degree wheel that I'll use once every few years.

Also, what is the best advance to run these cams at in a turbo engine, 1.4mm? The engine is twin-plugged and crankfire.

Thanks in advance.

Hi Dave,
Curious that nobody has answered you yet? I think you have a decimal off on your valve lash. I did mine .004" which is .1 mm. I also did 1.4mm at overlap for my timing. CAMS ran like a scalded dawg. They were SC's from IA.

I mean .04 can't be right, that is almost double your spark plug gap, ehhh? Must be a typo.
