G50 On Early Turbo
Does anyone know if A G50 tranny can mount to an early 76-77 turbo with the 6 bolt flywheel and the early style pilot bearing. If so what pressure plate and friction disk is used? just the STD 76-77 turbo setup?
Thanks Steve

g50 in 76-77 car
On the later turbo and g50 tranny cars the torsion tube was different to accomodate the slightly longer 930 long bellhousing and g50 trans. Your
first and biggest problem in an early car is the torsion tube issue. |

Hi my car already has the G50 torsion tube im mearly concerned with fitting the engine and box together and the clutch setup.
1. Heres what I see as my issues, I belive the 76-77 had a short bell housing? if I use the early presure plate the ring gear wont be far enough into my long bell G50, the solution use the late pressure plate on the early flywheel? will it fit? will it give the right ring gear engagement? 2. will the G50 input shaft engage the early style pilot bearing? Thanks Steve
