newby please help 930 no boost
i have a 79 930 with 70k miles car has not been used much recently had it out and realized there was no boost, i have checked for a stuck wastegate and it seems fine i have replaced intercooler o ring and still no luck i have also checked the intake side of the turbo the shaft has no play and spins free. any ideas thanks

I wonder if your recirc valve is jammed open.

Has to be the re-circ valve because the car would spit,sputter, and fart like a champ with an atmospheric boost leak. The re-circ valve creates a boost leak that doesnt violate the fuel metering's calculations. This is assuming it is not the wast gate being stuck open.

I would block off the exhaust with a rag while an assistant revs up the engine and I would listen at the wastegate dump pipe for any exhaust letting by.

when I first got my 77, the valve in the waste-gate was cracked and would not seat fully....very low or no boost.
the seating surface was almost completely gone. I found out when I took it to be dyno-ed for some baseline numbers. Bill K
