Great!
Thanks Julian,
That helps me out a lot. I will be in touch soon. Bryan |
Bryan,
Just for reference, these were my results last time I smogged the car. Only put the cat and stock muffler on the car, no air injection and no smog pump hooked up. 15mph, HC (PPM) was 20 (max was 133 and Avg 41), CO% was 0.06 (Max was 0.82and Avg 0.13) 25mph, HC (PPM) was 24 (max was 108 and Avg 29), CO% was 0.04 (max was 0.62 and Avg 0.11) regards, Julian |
Update
Well,
Smog is a success!!!! The PO had adjusted the mixture to an extremely rich setting to compensate for a poor running motor. Problem you ask... It was the two orange colored seals that are inside the intake between the turbo and the intercooler. One was cut and the other was almost non-existent. $4.00 for seals. Also, a slow adjusting O2 sensor. Then, it only failed smog becuase of NOX, so swapped out a catalytic converter (so generesly donated by another pelicany) and it was as clean as my 06 (HEMI) Jeep Grand Cherokee. I would love to know who was working on this before. Now, she purs like a kitten and shows better fuel economy as well. Hope this can help someone out there. Thanks to all who replied and offered suggestions. Bryan |
Bryan: Glad to see you got it dialed in. Also glad to see you were assisted by another Pelican member in getting the required parts to get thru the SMOG test.
You're good to go for another two years. chuck |
Bryan,
Thats good news, take a trip down to Visalia and give me a ride. I am having turbo withdrawl as my car is still in pieces undergoing conversion to track car, been 2 years since I've driven it. Julian |
Thanks
Thanks again for the comments.
Now, onto the B6 Inter-cooler and K27s Turbo and finally headers. Well see how she does then. To be continued... Bryan |
X98: You and I are on a parallel course. I have a B6 intercooler still in the box, also have SSI headers and a custom Y pipe, 46mm Tial, Brian's WUR, solenoid and some other parts waiting for the SSI headers to arrive.
