At 248,000 & 90000 US$, these are mind boggling prices... plus, the '78 car doesn't have a Ruf IC as stated. It looks like a Garretson/Andial unit to me.

275.00 AUD = 247.924 USD Simply put Australia taxes the p!ss out of their citizens. Ive heard a variety of reasons but none too convincing. However I suspect Australia's publicly-funded universal health care system to be one of the main catalysts of this.

Canada's health care is completely free. actually its more than free b/c they pay you when you get sick, and yes their taxes are high, but not that high!

How did we switch from an over priced car to taxes? The fact that we even connect this unreasonably priced car to taxes has got to say something in itself.....maybe rediculous?
