Ummmm... thats all well and fine, but...wow...a lot of work!
I have to wonder why you didn't just buy those really nice Wevo brackets and simply weld them in place. My 2 cents worth of pondering. Mark |

Hi Mark, I did those mounts myself only because my car is a collector, and I don't want to make modifications who wouldn't be reversible......and I'm not so sure that the Wevo brackets were so easy and faster to fit on the body.....with destroying and recreating fuel pump mount......

Good job Serge, In the states the WEVO's are probably more accessable too. Those fabbed mounts are definetly going to be strong, stonger than the WEVO units

Thanks For the compliments GJF.......I understand that it's a lot of work for only 2 mounts....but, that's not too much for such a car that I'll keep as long I'll be alive....and my son who helped me is close to seventeen...so......
![]() P.S.: and those brackets are not taking place of the stock ones....but added to the stock ones...that'll be normally much more stronger than only replacing.....

Serge,
That is a really nice job that you did with that. Now did you do that in place of buying Wevo weld in mounts or was it because the sway bars needed to be adapted to fit the car? Either way a really nice job. If you did them, what did you think about installing the through body swaybar in the front? Was it a pain in the @ss? I have to do the conversion soon and want to gather as much knowladge as possible soon.

Hi Kris....as I said upper, I didn't want to pull out the stock mounts and didn't want to weld on the body.....the other thing is that I analysed the picture i saw on my other thread from cl8ton (http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploads12/100_08921206668692.jpg) and tried to understand how the efforts are on those mounts.....then, I decided to make my own ones, keeping the collector side of my car....
![]() Of course, next step will be to fit the front bar...and reinforce the body in consequence.....hard job....pull out the tank and so on.....

If you grind the weld joints free of the mill scale on that angle iron it will weld much better.

Ah yes...walking that thin line between wanting to leave it dead stock for ultimate resale /collectors value, and wanting better than stock performance. With the Wevo's being weld on, you would of had to cross that line....I understand completely.
