Not that it matters but, that was for the '83 model year, not '82.

'82 numbers were 938 ROW and 89 Canada.

Not that it really matters..

1978 ROW-725 USA 451 Japan 50 RSR 935 Groupe 5 25

Looks like I've got #12 of the 451 produced for US consumption..

698 For rest of world
63 FOr Canada

The only way to tell what country it was from is to do a little detective work. Canada cars have a serial number starting with WPOJAO. All others will be WPOZZZ.

If it is left hand drive, that rules out England, Australia, Japan, etc. Start looking in the owner's manual for a dealer stamp. Failing that, you have to learn what the differences between the markets were and start looking at individual parts and their date codes.

For example, if you have metric gauges, that tells you something; ie. that the car was originally for a country that used the metric system. If you have non-metric gauges and the date codes on the guages are all later than the production date of the car, then you know that they have been changed and you originally had metric gauges.

There are a few options and standard equipment items that were specific to a certain market. You have to learn what these are and look for them. Often times, a Swiss car was similar to a German car but had detail differences regarding emissions and noise, so cars built for that market are slightly different.

You get the idea. You can sometimes pin it down closely. You can also order a Certificate of Authenticity from PCNA and this will sometimes tell you what you need to know.

Not to hijack- but a fellow 930 buddy and I have some differences between our 87-930’s

My 11/87-delivery date 930 does not have the “ET” third brake light where my buddy’s does (pay attention Bryan).
My third brake light is inside-to the top of the rear windshield.

I would like to know the prod #’s for 87 & 88? (MY) 88 seem to be a missing link?
I really do not see/meet that many people with 88/930’s
