78 930 outer cv assembly
HELP in the middle of the action...I started working on replacing the cv boot on the wheel side and ready to take the whole thing appart BUT realized that there are ALSO six allen bolts there. Should I be able to take those off in addition to the trans six and the entire Axle might come off without removing the rear axle outer nut which is PITA?
Every thread in here says that the outer cv is connected to the wheel shaft - or not? |

Miguell, you can take off the six bolts at each end and the axle will come out. I'll PM you my cell, I'm heading to Inverness in just a bit...

Have your lovely wife hold the brake pedal for you as you loosen the bolts, it'll make life much easier w/ a helper to apply/release so you can turn wheel to each bolt, I'll bring both kinds of snap ring pliers in case you can't get the joint off
