front rotor options for 78-79 930 floating rotors
Was hearing alot of rumors at the track the other day of cheaper replacement rotors for the front floating rotors on a 79 930.
I am gonna need replacement soon, as the Hawk Blues like to eat my rotors, and was wondering if anyone knew who makes replacement floating rotors that can be modified from other Porsche rotors. Basically, is there a way to modify other floating rotors that will bolt up to my front hubs without resorting to buying the expensive OEM rotors. I would like to keep my calipers and other hub hardware stock, and retain the floating feature. What supplier sells these or will do such a mod/machining? Any advice or info is appreciated. Fred

There's a Brembo part # on this thread: RSR & 930 brake rotors but there was never a definitive "yes it's a direct replacement" or a price posted. But there are photos and a phone #...
The hats from VCI are drop-in replacement for factory hats, but some aren't overjoyed with the rotors they supply. And they're no cheaper than factory.
