CCW Wheels for a 930
Did a lot of searching, either nothing specific or results BURIED in huge threads...
So who has CCW wheels? Seems the turnaround time is excellent - a few weeks, the price decent, and the looks are what I am after. Street wheels with old track tires will be the setup - probably 275/315 F&R

Ask and ye shall receive, Craig.
This is an old shot from when I first got my CCW's. John was a big help from CCW. I now also run 275/315, 18's. Cheers - Glenn ![]()

The wheels are nice and light and at a good price. Come great for the track but not "show" ..My friends black wheels looked like my 5 year hand painted.. He has had three sets sent to him which all looked the same. Also a big thread on 6speed under 996turbo about the wheels.

I have them as well. Classic style, 17x11&9. Custom brushed/anodized outers, black anodized centers. Street version, with center caps. Great wheels, great price, great company to deal with. John's the man, and knows his stuff...
I think the look of these wheels compliments a track-prepped car perfectly. ![]()

Out of curiosity, what's a ballpark cost for a set of wheels (say, in 18" size for sake of conversation)?
I believe cstreit has had a set or two of these CCWs, too.

I don't have them on a 930 but CCW makes a very good wheel. I have the Classic Track series in 17x9/10 running 275/255-40. John is a great wheel maker and the weight and strength is hard to beat at his prices. If you need any validation look at how many tracked Vettes and Vipers are running them.

John said in an e-mail:
- classics are all we have availble in 17" . - if the factory spacers are not being used, the offset required to do the car are lower than what we can do in single piece forgings and will have to do it in the classics Dang. Looks like 18" wheels then if I want a wheel other than the classics...which isn't all bad -

Personally, I really like these. For some reason, I've just never cared for the looks of the CCW mesh wheels. I know looks aren't everything on a track car, I just don't dig them like I do the BBS, Kinesis, etc. mesh style. Different strokes...

Same here - looks like I need spacers to run these 14 spokers or the 10 spokers.
What thickness are the stock 930 F&R spacers?

21mm front on the '79 and older 930's and 28mm rear on all 930's up to '89 (I think)

Simmons is another option that does custom sizes. I still want some BBS LMs.

CCW Classics
Quote:
I have 17" CCW Classics on my 79 930 (sorry, no pics of car w/ wheels). When I placed the order, I requested the offset for no spacers (less weight) and track prep (I believe shot peened and clear anodized) and no center cap. The rear fits perfect without the 28mm spacer and the fronts required the original spacer (21mm if memory serves, as well). The rear lugs need to be cut or replaced with the correct length with the spacers deleted. The design of the wheel did not clear the 930 caliper in front without the spacer. Once I replaced the front spacer the caliper clears and the outside of the tire is flush to the front flare. So, I called CCW back and they confirmed from previous orders that the 79 and older cars need the spacer if they are stock. I'm running 255s front and 315s rear. Very happy with the quality and performance of the wheels. I can provide my full name and date of order (and pics) via PM if you would like to call CCW for the same set-up.
