930 shifter adhesive

I had some problems at the track today.. looks like I've got some transmisson issues ( but that will be another thread).. Anyway my shifter shaft has come loose so that it rotates.. Does anyone know how it's secured into the shifter?? and how to get it out so that I can repair it ??
Thanks
Todd

There's a pin that slides in from the side and held in place with a clip. Perhaps the clip and pin fell out?

Re-reading your post, if sounds like the shaft came apart and some of it is still in the shifter housing. Is it a short shifter? I've read where some are "glued" and some welded. Does this sound right? Mine was a weltmeister and one piece IIRC.

I guess the fix would be go pull the shaft out of the housing. No big deal. Just remove the clip on the large pin that goes through the housing and shaft, then pull the remainder of the shaft out. Replace the cup and rod bushings if needed.

I only took a cursorary look at is as I was more focused on what the issue with my tranny was. Looks like i'll be doing a tear down on it shortly.. I'm hoping it's only a shifter fork that came undone...

mine did the same thing. the local shop tried to use epoxy which of course only lasted a couple days. i just went ahead and bought a used shaft here on pelican. you could probably weld it as well.
