930 winning group4 race car for sale
For those of you who are unaware the importance and legitimacy of your 930s impressive original race development, check out ebay item #260293915982 (930 + group 4 development equals the 934 designation). That same car development is lurking somewhere in the 930 you own. That is the difference between a 930 and other cars when modded. Most other Sports cars were not originally developed as supercars. I think the last time this car was offered it got to around $500K. Still way cheap compared to lesser cars that get into the multiple millions.

It is too bad that 930 owners in general consider it destructive to resell value or we would all be driving these supercars. I am getting to the point where I am going to give resell value a swift kick to the curb. Tired of the whole idea when I am sitting on a potential supercar.

Exactly. The reason some judge a 930 lesser, if not looking & driving as later sold through the 70s & 80s in street trim , is most other cars were developed the other way around. They are thinking backazzwards. That is not to say a 930 is not a great car in street trim, however it was developed by the factory both ways. Somehow it looks just right with the larger wheels/tires as the body was originally design to run in a production class with race running gear. Even the racing BBS wheels look great, as the later fakeydo wannabe clad vehicles are almost all rusting away in scrap yards or already have been devoured by the crusher or shredder.

That will seem really cheap once the word gets out, especially if you drive/behold others in that price range then add the race provenance, importance of the Porsche's contribution to racing other than Indy or Formula 1 series ( meaning regular folks can participate) over the years. It would be high on my list of must haves if I were to be able to buy in this range.

I think that this car was featured in Excellence a few years ago.
Very nice indeed.

Who makes those flares? What are they made out of and how do you attach them?

Fiberglass or carbon from GT Racing, Getty Design, or American International Racing. Usually they bolt on but you do have to cut the fender I believe.
And is Juice is 100% correct on the "easier" conversions...if I had to do it all over again...I wouldn't have the patience to go through the full quarter work. I'd go this route. This car is amazing...and the green one too ![]()

hahaha- thats awsome.
I cant agree more about the EFI. I mean- if someone was hell bent on keeping the car origonal, then why not do an EFI sys. that uses the stock manifold and so on? It would look origonal and drive better if tuned properly.

Just locate the flares, make cuts and mark out for evenly spaced holes. Use either rivets or self-tapping screws and trim-lock... think the factory used both. ![]() ![]()

I saw a green 1976 with these flares and that car looked unbelieveable with the original whale tail.

Yeah, that is a sweet car, even more so because it had the real deal in the rear. Even has the 'Screw'
Details: http://www.finecars.cc/en/detail/car/20447/index.html?no_cache=1 I remember it had a 'buy it now' option on ebay of about 85grand or something when it was listed for sale in japan... seemed like a steal, but noone bit. ![]() ![]()

The car was in Oregon when it was listed for $89K on ebay. I saw it for sale again about 6 mon. later for $120K, now it's in Europe. I talked to J.W. about an engine rebuild on that motor and was quoted between $25-50K, depending on condition. Was also told it would be a lousy street car based on it having no bottom end. I'm sure this motor doesn't come alive until around 5,000 rpm. Still a great looking car.

I was trying to bite but had just arranged for the Andretti Kremer 935 street 2 when this one came up. Other than getting a different house ( and significant other for that matter ) I had to pass. Hope I have another shot at it. Anyone remember who offered it? Once the stock market gets over the jitters I think I would feel better owning that green 934 than that paper stuff.
