Anyone know this Turbo?

Does anyone know this car?

Nice car at what looks to be a great price!

I checked the guys feedback on the 10 transactions he made…they were all for airplane parts!

So airplanes in the DW seem legit as Ocala is a fly from your house area.
It’s where Travolta lives with all his airplanes I believe.

Sounds like the guy who currently owns the car bought it for image (of course, he had to include the pic of his airplane in the background).

"...the 330-hp V-6 gets attention..."
"...brand new wheels and tire for extra style..."

Make sure you get some service records!

Yeah, his price seems decent... and the car looks clean. I like the color too.

If it checks out, it looks like a great car at 30k.

I agree with what the others have said. If it checks out, that's a steal at his "buy now" price.

Just more evidence that prices are shakey, to say the least! I'm not sure the "yeah, but nothing drives and looks like the original Turbo" claim to price premium (even for unmolested 930s) holds any water, any more! Personally, I think the C2 Turbo is superior in every way. Their prices were just too high when I got into this game...

Actually, unmolested original 930s are still getting very healthy bidding.

All the cars which are no longer stock are having a tough time attracting anything. 90% of the early Pcars for sale are not stock and these cars just don't sell.

Hey, the concours boys still have the money apparently.

I swear. just four years ago, I could not find a C2 Turbo for less than $50K...that is, even if I could find one for sale!

I talked to him today.

He has no service records at all and has not had it serviced in 2 years. He says it checked out fine from a Porsche Dealership when he bought it 2 years ago......He went on to say that it's never had a problem in 2 years.

I told him I would do a buy it now but would not pay unless I could take it the the shop of my choosing for a FULL PPI (leakdown, compression and the likes)

We'll see what he says but it seems neglected to me.

I don't understand how you can own such a nice car and not take care of it.....sad

WOW, two years? I can't let mine go for two weeks without doing something to it...whether it needs it or not!

The pics make it look pretty clean, but without any really good detail shots, it is tough to tell.

$30K is a good deal if the car checks out clean. Looks like the wheels are HRE's, and they aren't cheap.

The front spoiler is nice and straight, which is good (easy to fix), the glove box doesn't look like it is closing right, and the piece of trim near the shifter is missing.

Not having anything done in two years isn't a good sign.

If you have any questions, let me know.

Bill

Why do the Buy it now at all?

Just check it out and then buy it, IMO.

You are committing to buy it ahead of time with a buy it now.

If the car is mechanically good, that's seems like a smoking deal @ 30k.

Everytime I see deals like this I start thinking: "Jeez I overpaid for my '79."

But then I ask myself: "What are the chances that you buy this car for 30k and it needs nothing." Odds are that this car needs some TLC, even though it looks very clean. The fact that the owner says it has a V-6 and call it the "last of the air cooled models" shows that its not an enthusiast owned car. You've proven that further by inquiring about service history.

Please let us know how it goes...maybe you'll hit the jackpot on this one. I will be jealous though (have to keep telling myself that I like the look of the impact bumper models better).

You'd think a pilot (assuming that is his plane in the picture) would understand the value of preventative maintenance!

Only a PPI will tell the true story. I do think the price is attractive...

Your best bet is to find a person on Pelican who can go take a look at the car, drive it, and then perhaps take it in for a PPI.

BTDT, it's the way to go!
