Feeding the addiction - Member of Porsche Annonymous

For those of you that live in climates where "daily driving" is part of your vocabulary, we less fortunate few must leave our 930's garaged for a good part of the winter months or risk the perrils of snow, ice, road salt/sand, etc. However, the addiction does not lessen...rather, it grows as the months wane. Today, in an unexpected sunny 40 degree day, it was time to feed the addiction and take a much needed blast up the canyon. The poor girl hasn't been outside for over 3 months! Still some remnants of snow in the hills, but we're finally good to go!

Adrenalin is the word of the day. Even just a short abstinence is enough put the fear of God back into you when on full boost. Man, I love these cars! Nice cool air, boosting at just under 1.0 bar (with a .8 spring in my Tial WG and boost controller OFF). The cold temperatures help to stuff some extra air into things. Very disappointing, having to deal with a little extra boost don't ya think?

Safe as usual, though tempted to do something closer to the insane side of things (adrenaline does that to a person). I only touched 120 once, just to blow the carbon out...of course. My advice to all: Get off this forum, and get in your car. Time's a'wasting!

Luckier than us in the upper midwest. Still a month( or so ) of foul roads. Can't wait, glad for you to enjoy. Your right they really seem to pull stronger with colder air, or is it the the long awaited first spring drive.

Yeah Tony, that's a pisser. I left the Chicago area almost 11 years ago and although the snow didn't usually hang around that long, it really puts the damper on things. Now, living in Central Washington state, we're in actually a semi-arid climate...but still get hit pretty good with the white stuff each winter.
Be patient, the time will soon arrive!

All I can say is, your lucky. Wish I could have taken "the beast" out today. It's actually near you, at Paul Weir. So I settled for my "other fun car" C36 amg. It was a blast. Took the wife on back roads and went hiking around a state park. "Full story at eleven..." Oh wait I meant "hallmark type" story in off topic threads....It was a good day. Finally.

Whoa Ryan, Marrysville,WA is a long way away from Maryland! Hope you get her back in time for some fine spring-time cruising.
And as for hiking trails through the woods, it's my second favorite pastime. Used to get deeply involved in the mountain-man kind of thing, complete with pitons, crampons, ropes, ice axes, scarey stuff like that...I had yet another addiction to high altitudes. Let me tell you, at anything over 8000 feet, the world takes on a very serene attitude. Life is good, no matter how you choose to enjoy it.

Thanks for sharing. I hope to be right there with you in a week or so. Weather forecast calls for rain 2 days next week, so the salt should get washed down the drain. My car has been hibernating since early January. It got cold, snowed, then stayed cold. Roads have been salt encrusted since then.
