air/fuel meters

Just curious, who is using air/fuel ratio meters for tuning and what type/brand are you using? Which ones are reliable? Which are easy to use?

The LM-1's are suppose to be the most widely used IMO. Made by Innovative Motorsports.

Our host sells them too I believe.

Very nice! I checked out there web page and they're $650! Ouch!

The Innovative Motorsports gauge is half the price!

Innovate G5 gauge

Darling

I went with Innovate's G5 gauge.
It took me a while to figure out where to put it, but I got there in the end.

I have recently done a lot of different mods to the car and it is really conforting to see the AFRs sitting right where they should be (thanks to various inputs from others here and Mr Leask).

My only issue with this gauge is that it it is really bright at night. The gauge markings are bright white and need to be dimmed somehow. Anyone done this?

This gauge is hooked into an LC-1. I have an LMA-3 also hooked in but I am struggling to get it working (but that's another story ). I might have to resort to a new thread! Watch out for "LMA-3 help wanted" coming your way soon.

Bill

I'm using Innovate's LC-1 with the G3 gauge, and plugging the laptop in as needed to map the AFR's.
To be truthful, I just finished the installation last weekend and have yet to weld in the bung for the O2 sensor, so I can't yet speak to how well it works for me. Stay tuned....

I've had mine for a few years now, but thought you could adjust the light if not the color of the gauge?

Having just moved into the 90's and bought a laptop, I can try a few things with it....

I think the yellow wire from the guage goes to the output(a wire that supplies current to headlights) from headlight switch(not the dimmer) and will dim the guage when you put the headlights on. I installed the the DB series a real ***** to wire up and waiting on WUR to come back before I can tune!
