930 turbo decals/stripes

I`m having a hard time to find the "Turbo"decals. They were delivered on early 930 and was delivered as a original option. I have found one guy that have them reproduced, but interested in getting in contact with others that have info or very good pics for reproduction.
All help will be appreciated.

Regards,
Roar

I love that decal. If you happen to get one I noticed that the measurements for placement on the car are in the factory repair manual.

That 930 really stood out in the Porscheplatz at Sebring last year.

Have you looked through back issues of Panorama? or Excellence? I recall seeing a 1974 Carrera with the 911 graphics on the bonnet in this month's Pano. Not the same thing, but in a similar direction.

Decals

Hi.
I have talked to Mikez. He can not make the exact stripes with the equipment he has at the moment. They would be solid in any color.
Any more pics that are in high resolution are appreciated.
If somebody happen to have these decals laying around it would be great if we get them reproduced before they disappear and newer available again.

Regards,
Roar

i have an appraisal of my car before i bought it with its decals on it. the guy i bought the car from removed them, said they where to 80s for him. i can still see on my car where they were placed as the paint is ever so slightly different where the decals where. i would like to put them back on my car as well.

I also would like to get this decal for my white 930

Anyone that has the measurement? I have a friend that has a print shop that might be able to produce

The part numbers are here, maybe we can just order some from Wayne. This also states that there are nine decals on the Turbo, they are counting the black shark fins as 2 decals.

I have the decals on my 930, and bought them from dr. Konradsheim in Austria http://www.rsr.at/
They are very expensive (circa $800) but absolutely indistinguishable from new.
The process of re-installing them has been quite difficult, the correct alignment is difficult to get.
Here is the result

And as was before, the original ones:

I'll try to get close-up photos soon.

Ciao
Andrea

I contacted http://porschestripes.com and asked if thay had.

Here is what they replied:
"Trond,
We do not have that stripe kit. We have had requests for it before, but have never had one come in locally. We would need to have the car here to create the kit for the first time in order to make the decals fit around the curves of the car.

We are located in San Diego, California. (USA)

If anyone in San Diego, CA area it might be possible to ask for a price to make new ones. But thay need the car locally to make measurments

Hi.
I have also been in contact with various companies to try to get a hold of them.
Original stripes shows to be difficult, 2 of the 9 is no longer in production. Like Andrea says, Dr Koonradsheim is the best bet, but at a fairly high price. I´ll keep you posted if I can get them made at a better price.
Andrea: Close up wood be very good to asses the different patterns.

regards,
Roar

What a surprise to read this thread and see a pic of my car! You're right, that was at the Sebring Porscheplatz last year.

Anyway, those are the original stripes on the original paint. Here are a few close-up pics so you can see how the stripes are composed. I would be glad to take other specific pics if that would help.

For some reason, all this recent '76 talk here's been stirring me up - just has those speakin to me. So cool.

Good luck on the stripe endeavors guys - post results fersure. I half kid about wanting to do that to my '87. Mebbe somesillyday, dunno. Would look teets on Guards certainly... heh heh...

On my to-do list.

Hey Guys,

I have scanned and measured a set of the original turbo stripe decals with the intent of making a set some day. I really didn't think there was a big demand. Perhaps I was wrong. Pricing would fall in the $400 range for a set. Let me know if you are interested. You can contact me at Dan@MagnaGrafik.com.
Thanks, Dan

These repros look great. Does anyone with access to PET know if these decals were available in MY75? If so do they have an option code number?

I know these decals or something similar were on the late '73 Paris show car with the wooden motor but did they then become available for customer order cars as of Jan 75?

see post #9 above which is a good indication that they were indeed available in 1975: it is an early 930 (75MY) as evidenced by the manual flag mirrors - and it was delivered with the stickers.
