77 930 3 pin or 6 pin?
simple question?
sorry. I bought a spare CD unit from a 78 930 that is 6 pin without verifying whether mine is 3 pin or 6 pin. help thanks Bill K

I think that the early 930's are 8 pin.

I didn't know there was an 8 pin thanks Bill K *after I pull the disconnect a bunch of pipes, tubes, relays, and wires to check the actual teminal

Bill,
If your 8 pin fails and you can't find another one, you can rewire your harness and use the 6 pin. Or go with MSD. If you are into originality then you are ***** out of luck.

thanks all
I looked in the repair manual at the wiring diagram and then under the lid to confirm, and it is an 8 pin CDI. They are really different looking then the 6 or 3 pin - huge duh after 31 years of faithful service from the oem unit, I guess I should be looking at the MSD as an alternative. Bill K
