Anybody familiar with this car?

Anybody familiar with this car? I have a guy I know who's interested in it.

Thoughts? Pros? Cons?

Don't specifically know the car, but the shop Powertech seems to get good reviews here locally. They are active in the local PCA DE events too. I could probably go have a look at the car in person if your friend is interested.

It has been on and off the bay a few times. My opinion is that if a PPI checks out that it is ALOT of car for the money.

If 930 prices ever take off you will kick yourself for passing on a car like this.

I think if the engine checks out, it's a good car for the money. Not a concours car, but a good street/track car.

Jim,
Thanks for posting this for me.

Jacob,
I agree that Powertech seems to be a good company. I've been inquiring about the car and am waiting to hear back about my latest offer. That would be great if you would drop by to check out the car for me. If the deal goes through then I'd appreciate any recommended shops for PPI.

Glad to help if I can Mike.

I'm going out of the country friday and won't return until April 30th, so if you get an itchy trigger finger, it may go down before I'm back. I have used an indy shop in Chatham NJ called ********. Owner is Gene Kirschner and he's been in the biz for a while. I'm sure he could do the ppi for you. He's not into heavily modded turbos though so might not be very knowledgable regarding the efi install, but could do leakdown, and general check for sure.

Sorry to dissapoint you, but Gene , most likely will not do PPI. He had some bad expiriences with clientes and liabilities ( talked to him about that other day). Though you could try him, I would recomend him deffinetly. He is the one that looks after mine 930.
Powerthech is 15 min from me. If you need I could swing by untill weekend. Offcourse if car is parked there.

Jacob, where you going? Gonna miss Hershey? Still up for Dragon?

Apologies for the threadjack...

KG, I am going to Japan and Korea. Still doing the turbolooza event at end of June. You should convoy with us.

Back on topic: I agree that red is perhaps not the most unique color, but still looks to be a good car. Let us know how it goes. Take me or KG up on the offer to have an in person look.

Please do drop by that shop to check out the car for me. If you could do it today or tomorrow then that would be great. I'm not sure if the car is at the shop. Best to call first.

Red color is one of the cons for me but I'm willing to overlook that color since I want a car with lots of mods.

I really really like that car, I have been eyeing it since its first debut on eBay a while back, the bidding on it has never crossed $25K.

I just called Powertech and asked if the car is at their shop and it is there. Let me know what you think if one of you dropped by!

Yes, I like it, too. I think its color will grow on me.

This car does not have a spare tire, pump and jack. Are those easy to find? I hope they would consider to throw in those spare stuff in the sale.

The jack and pump shouldn't be a problem. With the bigger brakes, you'll need a
C2T spare to clear.

Will you take a look in the trunk to make sure there's no rust and/or damage? Look in the battery area, too. Verify that engine has twin distributors. I was told that they are 964 distributors. Are there any signs of bad oil leaks? Find out if the sun roof operates. What is the condition of the dash board (any sign of cracking)?

Sent PM my phone #.

Thanks!

Will the C2T spare fit in a 930 trunk? For now the car has standard 930 brakes so a regular 930 spare is OK. Thanks for pointing out a need for bigger spares for bigger brakes.
