My 1983 930 engine is currently being repaired by a local experienced Porsche mechanic. During the assembly process he noticed (or at least thats what he told me) the camshafts for my 930 were replaced by 911 Carrera camshafts.
Is this an upgrade?? Is there any "tradeoff" for this replacement? Should I go back to the original ones? Thnxs |

Depends on the 911 shafts used. If he is experienced, ask him specifically which shafts are installed. Without knowing which ones are used, you don't know if its good or bad. Although not as critical as NA motors, cams are still the heart of these motors - not turbos or pistons or.....
