Oil cooler

I'm new to the forum, my name is gary and I have a 78 930 witch I've own for 24 yrs. My question is I got a pin hole leak in my oil cooler, when pressurizing it it is some where between the fines, can't really tell.Has any one attempted to repair one of these oil coolers? I priced an OEM oil cooler and there 880 dollars. Is there an oil cooler that will do the job for less money. THX GB

I'm assuming this is the engine oil cooler. You can find them used in the $100-125 range. Send the cooler to Pacific Oil Coolers in SoCal for a pressure test and ultrasonic cleaning. They may be able to repair yours, not sure. Worth a call.

Ok here is an update on my oil cooler repair. I sent it down to PACIFIC COOLER down southern cal. It had an internal leak and couldn't be repaired. My motor had 50,000 miles on it when I found the problem. For those people thinking of putting a used oil cooler, you need to make sure that is a good cooler (pressure test it first) just an F.Y.I to all those porshe mechanics. GB
