Question What have I done now.

I did the Rear shocks on my 87 930 yesterday and in the process I had to take off the inter Cooler, move the AC outta the way and I took off the complete Air filter box/unit. I Changed the filter to a K&N re-usable and put it all back togeather.
Just took it out and it ran like crap, rough, low idle , doesn't want to rev and my tack is at 5-6000 and bouncing at idle, can those Air filters be directional? Why the wierd electrical thing with the tach? Car was working great before I did these few couple of things, also had a trickle charge /battery tender on for about 24 hours. Have I forgot to hook up something or did I disturb some thing , I'm stumped! Thanks for your help.

Sounds like there is a vacuum leak that probably happened when you installed the intercooler. Take it off and double check that all the lines are connected, the o-rings are there, and the o-rings have made a seal.

Pinched O-rings around the intercooler couplings are usual culprit. Also check the pipe going to WG.
