87 930 - help with oil hose
guys, I need help finding the correct part number for an oil hose I have that needs replacing - looking through the schematics I cannot find it. The hose originates just above the "S" hose that connects the oil tank and the oil cooler and then appears to run up through the valve cover. It is a soft hose with a hard crimped end and -AN type fitting. Any thoughts? - Thanks in advance, Ryan

Hose
Ryan,
The hose you are referring to is from your oil separator the sits just behind your fill tube (for oil) inside the engine bay. That hose is in 2 parts, the lower which you are referring to and the upper (inside the engine compartment). This hose does not have any pressure. Mine was leaking at one point and all it needed was a couple new hose clamps where the two hoses meet by the engine tin or just inside the tin. Upper: 930 107 389 04 Lower: 930 107 389 06 Connector: 930 110 267 01 Best of luck, Bryan |

Bryan, thanks for the info - that may be it. The car was on the lift when I was looking at it and will look at the top when I get home. Something that concerns me though is that this hose did not have hose clamps - it has hard fittings that screw into the oil tank....

I'm not sure which of the hoses you need but when the upper one needed replacing on my car I went to a local generic auto parts store, asked and went in back where all the molded water cooled car replacement heater hoses were hanging on a rack and found one that had a section that was a perfect match and size as the upper half of the Porsche 930 107 389 04 breather tank to oil tank hose. It was only $7 too.
It was also a relatively fresh hose that wasn't made in Germany 20+ years ago and already dried out to some degree. I cut out the part that matched the size and shape of the Porsche hose I needed and used that. |

There are three lines off the oil tank IIRC. One to the engine oil cooler, one to the bottom of the oil/air separator and the third that goes to the turbo oil scavenge pump. Shuould be number 40 in the pix below.

Clarification
If the line in fact does disappear into the tin (there is only one) then it has to be the lines I provided to you.
The bottom line does have a hard metal fitting (looks like an A/N) that connects to the oil tank. It could still be the line that I mentioned. All of the other lines do not go through the engine tin, but rather behind it like the scavenge pump line which Jim pointed out as #40 in the diagram. |

x98boardwell - I do believe that the hose you are talking about is indeed the one I am looking for based on the info that the one you are referring to does indeed have a hard fitting that goes into the tank. - thank you very much for that.
A930Rocket - thank you as always for your help. I really appreciate it. Sincerely - Ryan
