"Turbo" Graphics question
i absolutely love the script and graphics on the 76-77 930, my question is 2 fold: is it blasfemy to put it on my 86 and if not where can i get it?http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1251863822.jpg
|
I love the look too, not blasphemy IMO, if I had a white 930 (my favorite 930 color) I would do it for chits and gigs.
|
I like that stripe too. I believe a source was mentioned in this thread.

I like ^this^ guy. 8-) Can't help mesself from often seeing those and fantasizing about them on my guards. Issues. Dooooo eeeeeeeet. heh heh heh report back! |
wow, € 650,00 is roughly $960 from Dr. Konradsheim. I do have a buddy that does car and boat graphics and wraps. I'll see what he can do. I wonder how many people would want them, even if they aren't "exactly" to factory spec.

Someone either here or on the Rennlist 911 Turbo forum was selling a set recently. Do a search.
|
i'll check, thanks

Search for username tomdeg. There was a post from him selling a reproduction set for $485 a few months ago.

Were they an option on later cars too?

http://forums.pelicanparts.com/porsche-911-used-parts-sale-wanted/483892-930-turbo-side-graphics.html?highlight=turbo now i feel like the guy that said he would sky dive if given the chance and now standing at the edge of the airplane door is having second thoughts...... but they just look so cool |
I have seen a 930, probably mid 80's with them but don't know if they were original or not, my guess is that they were. I agree they are very sharp and have considered putting them on my '76.

Blasphemy??? Hmmmm... Well, what is your view regarding 'period correct' appearance mods with the 911? The different exterior visual cues of the later vs early 930's are: 1. Front Valence with recessed foglights 2. Antenna in windshield not on fender 3. Seat profile(s) comfort & sport 4. Third brake light 5. Dual tip exhaust 6. Porsche script in rear reflector (87-89) Another common appearance mod are the addition of Ruf Classics with a Ruf front valence/spoiler. Should the Ruf wheels and spoiler be put on an early 930? Well the same visual cues as above on a later 930 are absent from the early 930 and would be a visual conflict with equipment that did not appear until Yellowbird in 86... These are visual nuances that to most would go un-noticed and would simply look just fine... Some are quite pleased with the appearance of Turbo Twists with 30 series tires on a 930... with triple plane 3.8 wing bolted on. I think most of us fall somewhere in between on our own viewpoint of what is visually and tastefully correct. Each to his own... |
hmmm, well i've also been eyeing some RSR bumpers for my car too. I'm torn between keeping the car "period correct" and personalizing to what I want. The latter has more will

Turbo3six, Thanks for the compliment. I have spent a long time making these as accurate as possible, (even silkscreening them as opposed to laser printing).
I have them in black or white. $485 plus shipping. |
Go for it! If I didn't have a slant I sure would. I've seen them in the flesh and they are very cool. Not overt (especially when compared to the new RS) and the best part is that since they are on 3M film they can be removed.

saw this one on youtube, seems to be missing a section of the graphics.
Nice looking car, a little excessive ring wear and under sprung in the rear but still... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GDhSKP_rACA |
rock ON - how cool is THAT?
To me, that vid just exudes the OE 930 experience - ring wear / squat included! Wicked cool. Sums the daily commute up nicely it does...um er uh... 8-) Tx(!) fer sharin... |
Turbo Scripts
Hi.
I also bought a set from Tom. It was very good work. He replaced one for me that had a bit of snag. Very good guy to buy them from. Roar Olsen Norway |
