Pat:

You can eliminate the 8762, as it's features are included in the SafeGuard.

So true, 'cause that's what the safeguard does is retard timing, right?...though not in response to boost levels and not until it "hears" the knocky-knockies. Presuming it works, then a person wouldn't need nor want the redundancy.

I know, John, this has been debated at length on this forum. For those that use Safeguard successfully, good for them! For the skeptics, good for them too!:D

Gimpy,

Watch out when you say anything negative about J&S products because John's wife will get her panties all in a knot and write nasty posts and call you names. I am now referred to as a self proclaimed expert. I assumed her attempt to sensor my freedom of speech must mean she's one of those leftist Ovomit followers so I didn't pay any attention.

It includes boost retard with "Start" and "Rate" knobs.

Thanks. I stand corrected.

Update:
Got the SC running for shakeout a few months ago. I had the MSD hooked up, and the J&S unit was not yet in. The car ran like crap. I tweaked the fuel, boost onset, on and on. Finally, I started disabling stuff, to isolate the problem. Turned out the MSD 8762 is bad. MSD said send it back, and they will repair it for a nominal fee.

Since I have to change the slipping clutch, I will be putting in the J&S unit then. As soon as I get the 968 suspension done, I will have room in the garage.

Well that's mighty white of them....but IMHO they should take it back, repair it and sell it as-such to someone else, and provide you with a new one. THAT is good business. They make a good product, and as yet I haven't had to deal with their customer service side. Maybe I shouldn't slam them, but.....

Still anxious to hear how J&S works for you.
