bus is done.....or as far as I can take it.......
trans am is done, 4 speed, 455 HO Pontiac engine massaged to 545 hp on the dyno at the wheels(still have to put basic stereo in it) 930 is new and will need the cat conv out, new headers/ exhaust. Was going to do hydraulic chain tensioner upgrade but thanks to everyone here figured out it has them as there are lines feeding into the covers on both sides. Was also going to change to a 1 bar spring but on max boost the gauge goes all the way to 1.......I supposed PO already put that in...... so now its just headers and exhaust. Hopefully I can do myself?? VW bus was a 2 year project from tranny, brakes, engine and steering box/column but figured it out...slowly though. Thanks for everyones help so far. I posted a pic of the option codes on the inner hood of the car. Can anyone tell me what they mean? Also did these cars come standard with LSDs? or was it an option thing? |

found the codes. One code is for "locking differential".
one is for alarm but no alarm that I can see or hear. There is a little nipple like thing on the roof above the rear view mirror and an extra switch thing by the doors. One turns interior light on when door opens, other one does nothing.....alarm? |

Cool cars.
Look at the driver side door jamb near the lock mechanism. There should be a lock you can stick the key in. No idea how it works. |

That Trans am top needs a little attention. The thingy up by the rearview mirror is the temp. sensor for auto heat +1 on there is a place for a key in the drivers door for the alarm.

That is for the factory alarm that was an option. If you need a new key, just get a new lock w/ key from our host.

It should be the same as your ignition/door locks. Are they the same?
If you want to use it, you'll need to get a new one or maybe a locksmith can rekey it? |

Yep change out the lock. It's a piece of cake...The ignition/door lock and the alarm lock are completely different keys
