Question on rear sway bar for 930
Hi, I seem to have read somewhere that rear sway bars from G50 Carrera 3.2l would fit on 3.3 Turbos 4 speed.
I found a 21mm rear sway bar from a '88 Carrera, and I wanted confirmation that I could put it on my '83 930. Thanks in advance Mathieu |

Looking at the Pelican catalog, it looks like the Tarett and Weltmeister sway bars interchange:
Tarett Engineering Fully Adjustable Hollow Sway Bar, 22mm, Rear, 911 & 911 Turbo (1978-89) Weltmeister 22mm Rear Sway Bar Kit, 911 (1987-89), 911 Turbo (1976-89) Unless you are married to having it look stock, you could always go with a Tarett, Smart Racing, TRG, etc. bars and have a adjustability, which the Carrera bar won't have. Thanks.
My '83 turbo has 20mm/18mm front/rear sway bars - so changing to later carrera 22/21 sway bars will add significant stiffness and is very good value (I found them for very little money). This upgrade is popular on SCs, and I thought I should give it a try on my 930 before going the expensive route of Tarett and the likes. BTW it is quite easy and cheap to have adjustability on the rear OEM sway bars: drill a few more holes and replace the drop links with adjustable ones (rebelracing eg). Mathieu |
