As we have winter here I start to think about exchange all interior in my 930. I just ordered alu roll cage, and start to think about seats ( I think about Recaro Pole Position - black leather or black vinyl + silver center) and find that my interior should be a complex project. As I like to paint my car I will dismantling interior fully. So find that would like to have something "custom" but clean and simple I look at Sinnger Vehicle Design 911 ( at www. singervehicledesign.com) and somehow it could inspire me but how far to go ? It is a question. From one side like to have original 930 but from other like to have "my own" car.
Some point first:
Like to have something special - somehow racing heritage look somehow simple design absolutely not overlook . ( Always like simple design )So I will wait with recaro seats order till I know how my interior should looks like . So please any ideas, suggestion, pictures that could make a good inspiration for my 930 Performance Car Project. If you have custom interior or very special items in your car I will be glad to see it. My idea is to build the best interior whatever it means...

I like where you are going, i stole this from the prototype "turbo" for sale in another thread... but this would look cool on the pole positions and in a black car...

I put a 930S wheel in my 930 and that was as much customizing as I wanted, I'm a stock guy and to each his own but to put a roll bar in a street car reeks of high school, if you think you need a roll bar for street driving then your driving too fast for street use. IMO to alter a unique street car with a roll bar and Recaro seats is a waste of money and to me will actually de-value the car, put your money in paint and motor work and keep it stock in apperence is the way to go, as with most mods - you will never get your money back on re-sale and a roll bar says the car has had the crap driven out of it, just my 2 cents worth.

I'm not sure that you have right. First All my other cars are near 100% original. And I am proud of it.
But I spent nights to thinking over keep original or go custom it is not easy decision.

That car belongs to an acquaintance of mine. It is very well done (it's also for sale).

Come on guys I would like to see more pls. My idea is to put harrget shifter in black and steel look, I have spoken to cobra seat producer and they could make me seat against my project so it could be cool. I will make some drawing and probably will go this direction. So what I decide till now:
My idea is to build something special hope at least so interesting and taste-full as Singer Porsche but more racing heritage look and at all it is 930 beast! and like to keep wild nature of this vehicle.

I'm thinking those seats come from a Chrysler Cordoba, rich Corinthian vinyl.

Kidding aside. That guy in MO has a different vision for his Porsche.
I like plaid and hounds tooth but on early model 911s, ending with the 2.7RS. Granted they had plaid in the some early 930s but I place the visual break point starting with high bumper '74 cars. First, I think you change what you touch, manipulate and see. Replace the steering wheel and full shifter, not just the shift knob. Replace the clock with boost gauge. Do not reclock the gauges. Go to light weight modern performance seats, not the cushy overpriced modern performance replacements. Add a harness bar if you don't need to put kids in the backseat and add 5 point belts. Nothing impresses riders, or you the driver, like a serious seat and 5 point belts. Mount a quality fire extinguisher in sight. If your car has an obvious "sound system" remove all visual cues. A/C is OK at this level. Finally replace the doors panels with RS type. Keep everything and replace them before you put the car back on the market. All of this stuff, while really cool and desirable telegraphs to a potential buyer "this car was flogged!" |
