another header question/ Schnell???????

may need to replace my euro header/ heater box system if inspection proves it to be too crappy to worth repairing/ rewelding holes, etc.

Have Rarly muffler and K27HFS in box. I know Rarly's stuff is awesome but looking for opinions on another option in case I do need to replace. I would like to keep heat and Brian's system may not be ready yet although I understand It can be added on later. I am looking at a schnell system but wanted to see if anyone has had bad experiences with them. I know its lower grade steel but its significantly cheaper and Im not a track person. Any thoughts on the Schnell?

Nader, I'd love to sell you a set of headers but you have other less expensive options. A complete Euro exhaust system (minus muffler) can be had for < $300. Post a want ad in the classifieds and you should get a hit.
You can re-sell that setup for the price paid when you are ready to buy a set of mine. I finished the blueprints on the exchangers today http://forums.pelicanparts.com/support/smileys/clap.gif and will have them off to the tin bender tomorrow.

This is what you are looking for yes?

I've got the complete set up with 52k miles off my 87 if you're interested. $300 plus shipping.

I have a set of the headers you are looking at. No heat but have been fine for 3 years now.

As I have understood from different treads on this forum, Schnell, GSF and OBX are all china built headers, with almost equal quality ?? GSF same as OBX, just with heat ?
Might vary about fitting though.
I does not have any experience myself, just what I have been reading.
Maybe someone can comment on this?

I ordered a set of OBX, the set I recieved was of very low quality. They would not line up with the exhaust ports without taking th to a shop to realign. There also was an amazing amount of metal pieces throughout the set that would dislodge with a few heat cycles destroying the turbo. I have heard a few that have had success with these, I sent mine back and got a set of Brians SSI headers, and have been very pleased with the quality, and the fit was dead on perfect.
I expect his latest offerings will be the same or better quality wise.

A set of 993 normally aspirated heat exchangers with with a flipped flange and a custom Brian/M&K Y pipe would be an improvement over stock and still give you OEM level of heat.

Just a thought.
