930 steering differances
I have been told that the early 3.0 liter 930's used the carrera steering rack and the later 3.3's went to a 930 specific rack that is slower but better suited for high speed autobahn driving. There are those of the opinion that the early 930's are therefore more enjoyable to drive. I love my 85 930, but the truck like qualities can really wear on you after a while. Has anyone converted their 3.3 to the 3.0steering? What kind of results? would like to get some feedback.

I have yet to find one of these elusive fast racks. At this point I suspect that if they ever were produced, none made it to NA.

The 930 steering rack has the same lock to lock ratio as the 911 - the difference is in the "height" of the assembly to accomodate the native anti-dive geometry of the 930.

I'll say this - a faster rack would increase steering effort not decrease it, if that is what you are trying to accomplish.
