Flatnose Slopenose Fixed Light Conversion
Found this and thought some of you guys maybe interested.
Think you will agree its BAD ASS, thinking of doing it to my car but not sure if red would look as good!! The lights are taken from a Fiat Coupe : http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1267735323.jpg And now the good bit : http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1267735386.jpg http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1267735435.jpg http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1267735461.jpg http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1267735480.jpg http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1267735502.jpg http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1267735519.jpg http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1267735537.jpg |
I have seen pictures of one other car done this way. I like it. I have a pair of nice slantnose fenders for sale that would be perfect for this.
Thanks for posting. |
I have seen pics of this black car somewhere befor as well. Kinda cool.
Is that your car? |
This Site can be very detrimental to the pocket book! Especially since I have a set of Slant fenders waiting to go on! I wonder if they cut around & mounted or just used the headlights?
I like it.
I wonder how much cutting and fitting was involved. I really like that look but I can't see myself altering my Ruf fenders. I've been looking for some projector lights to fit. I think the lights for a 3rd gen Mazda Rx-7 would look pretty cool also. I saw these online.http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1267761426.jpg
I was going to use these.http://www.backgardenco.net/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=7_48_92&pro ducts_id=85
Great look! a mix of new and old school!
I really like the look! Wondering if the angle of the slope on the fenders is the same, so the lights would be fully functional & adjustable.
Check out these rx7 headlights I've been looking at.http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1267803647.jpg

He's a couple of good images of the Fiat Coupe headlights.
There is a definite lip around the headlights, so it would appear you cut a hole the correct size and push the headlight unit up into it from the bottom securing it in place with some fabbed up mounting points for the you can see around the units, doesn't look to be that harder job really. Just have to see if there adjustment for the lights levels etc to compensate for any difference in mounting angles. http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1267811915.jpg http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1267811931.jpg Its either I do that or install a new front bumper 935 style same as below with its fixed headlights.....hummmmmmm http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1267812265.jpg |
I personally prefer the DP935 look, but then again, I'm old skool...
Yeah true, i've just got the 935 wing mirrors and a Kremer/DP extended wing, so I guess the 935 front would look the best and keep it more genuine looking to.

Here is a pic of the pair of fenders that I was asked about. $750 plus shipping. |
Those would be good candidates. Maybe I should hold on to my Slant fenders, complete with mazda motors, & get some like you have, without headlights.
Love that look! How much are the lights and where do you buy them?
Another fixed light conversion :

We did one several years back on a friends Carrera widebody slantnose cab, it was similar to the above with the plexi-covered openings. Also added C2 bumpers and C2S 1/4 duct. It was a very nice car, although he did complain about it throwing less light on the road than the previous config with pop-up mazda headlights. I'll see if I can find any pics of that car to post.
The pop riveted slats look a little funky.
Another fixed headlight not slantnose but looks like a good candidatehttp://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1267893173.jpg

Got my headlights in to do the conversion.I went with the fiat coupe's.I'll post pics later.
looking forward to the pics.
Yes, looking forward to the pics also. I may build a pair also with the black slant fenders I have unless I sell them first.
Here's a pic out the box.http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1272927309.jpg
To me that red DP935 is the ultimate 930 variant!!! Like the fixed headlights in the lower bumper.
More Fiat headlights.
But I prefer the DP 935 style. DPHanshttp://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1273429680.jpg |
For me this is the ultimate setup.

Sorry to revive an old thread, but did anyone ever complete this headlight conversion?
Matt |
I have the fenders done, waiting to go on & get painted.

I have the lights and a set of fenders; it seems that the fenders aren't wide enough to hold the width of the lights without modification, is that accurate? (Standard slope nose fiberglass fenders, with no light holes, so I can cut them at any position I need to). I am planning on also asking this in the main 911 forum to address a wider audience. Matt |
The metal fenders are wide enough to fit the Fiat lights. It was the length that is ohh so tight. Will try to get some pictures up when I have time.
Here are my fenders with the lights installed.

Look great...
Where did you get them? Link? |
Ah yeah, they look awesome
Got them on Ebay Spain or Italy, (?) forgot exactly. What you need to look for is lights from a Fiat Coupe, which is a Turbo, that has left hand drive. Because the cut off point is different depending on the side of the road you drive. It would be a benefit to get the electrical loom as well.
I'm sorry but I have to say...that yellow car looks hideous. I dont think this mod is a good idea. It just screams 80's gaudy Gambella style to me. There I said it.
