WTB: Air Injection Plugs
Lost an air injection plug this past weekend after several years. Made the car sound like a 67 VW Bug.
![]() Anyway, I did a search on the issue and a competitor of out host has them in ST ST from Weltmeister for $39 I think it is. I need ONE. Looking on-line, I can't find it in the pitch I need (M10x1.0), nor can I find them locally. Even McMaster-Carr didn't have them Anybody know where I can ONE? Or maybe two and I'll have a backup? injection plugs
Mercedes drain plugs work. Go to a local MB shop or dealer. As I remember it is a transmission plug. Has a nice flange and uses a hex wrench for installation. Use a copper ring seal and they don't fall out.

I have 5 you can have. Two are hex barrels and three are the MB drain plugs. One is lost - that's why I welded the holes closed and did away with these things.

Could this hole be used as an exhaust pressure measuring point? Or EGT?

As a point of reference I found that 1/8-NPT pipe plugs have almost an identical pitch thread and will work up in there. However, from thermal expansion and a tapered thread this is not the ideal solution (and may eventually work loose) but will work in a pinch, like at the track!
914 brake caliper plugs are the same part. Can you get a set of those? =========PEL-BRC-02
