If it's a factory slant, the slats are held in place by two wood screws per slat. They are located in the inner wheel well. To remove slats, CAREFULLY unscrew. On the opposite side of the slat, there are two locating pins with a plastic sleeve on each to locate the slat in its proper orientation to the brake duct panel. Remove the top slat followed by the second, followed by the third. To reinstall, reverse the procedure.
The slants' slats are composite, so you may able to fill, sand and repaint the slats while they're out.

P.S. You may have to remove the wheel to access the screws properly.

Good luck

If it is factory please take some pictures of the inside so we can see if it is wood or plastic. There has been some debate about this before.

Mine was a odd looking plastic(on the outside) black in color with a foam center orangeish in color.
Kinda looked like a Crunchy bar........MMMmmmmm.

ok when I pull it out I will snap some pics, I do see the screws so I will CAREFULLY unscrew them. I guess I need to find some replacements. I will start with porsche and see whats available. I don't think its wood as they would have warped and split along time ago.

I am thinking I will be refurbishing my broken slat. Porsche wants 280.00 for the slat, come on?

j930, In the past I have made a few pairs. I had the plastic and made a pattern and cut, ground and sanded until they were perfect. I am sure you could do the same using the broken one as a pattern.

Good luck.
