I hate when they don't start, but it's usually something goofy like the rotor missing or a disconnected wire...

Ken looking good!!

I met you in Palm beach at the track for the super car weekend. Im from S.Miami and have a Blk 88-930. When I rebuilt my engine 18 months ago I also powdercoated all my tins, fan and housing! after running a bit had a bad miss and after 2 days checking things it ended up being a bad ground on the coil. Be sure on the bottom of the fan shroud to sand the paint around the locator pin! Or make a ground wire from the coil nut to a good ground!!

Good Job!

Give the man a Cookie thats the reason it didnt start. Ran a ground wire from the housing bolt to the intake and it started and ran fine. I noticed while i was trouble shooting that it idles much stronger and smoother with the msd blaster coil than the stock one. It would have taken me days to find this if you hadn't given me a heads up. Running great now tomorrow need to check the afr's re adjust the clutch and clean it up. It's filthy at the moment. Like the kep much more force required to hold the clutch in though, which will be fun in rush hour traffic. The wevo transmission crossmember made a big improvement in the shifting.

"Like the kep much more force required to hold the clutch in though, which will be fun in rush hour traffic."

Thats probably because you installed the KEP stage 2 pressure plate that is made for high power EFI twin turbo track cars.

The KEP stage 1 pressure plate holds up to 600ft lbs of torque and thats way more power than any CIS car or most EFI single turbo cars will ever come close to making. People on this forum that have the stage 1 in their street cars say the clutch pedal is only a little harder to push down than with a stock sachs pressure plate.

The spring center 930 sachs disc is usually what people install with the KEP stage 1 pressure plate on a CIS 930 street car. They engage smoothly and last a long time.

Well it's very smooth and I plan on going efi next year possibly, and every car i have ever built in the past has ended up being a monster lol. So I was afraid i would go over board again and have a clutch that was too weak. it is much lighter so it revs a lot faster now. I just about turned it sideways today. I was going around a corner i go around every day and punched to get through traffic. Instead of just speeding up and darting around the corner the tires spun and I almost spun it out.

Mine's done that a few times too recently but not because my car has alot of power.
It happens because of the cool weather we've been having here in s. florida and according to manufacturer specs my summer performance tires are not supposed to be used below 55 degree air temps if you expect good grip.

Ken911 12-18-2010 06:13 PM

well it's running a lot better with an msd coil and no more cracked headers but the lighter clutch really makes it spin up a lot faster. Got to check the afr's tomorrow see if the changes i made helped any. I removed that frequency line you showed me last summer. So i will probably have to change all the settings on the WUR.
