Insulation plate between KKK turbo and exhaust...

Has anyone seen one, or been recommended such a plate?

I was wondering what benefit the turbo might have being a little buffered
directly from some residual heat/ir, etc.

Is it possibly the turbo support bracket your are referring to? It does look like a plate sandwiched by gaskets.

TT,

I have seen , what appears to be, heat shields used between the turbo and the engine, I have always assumed it was to keep excessive heat away from the engine and rear bodywork..

They were used a lot on 934's and here is a similar shield on a 993 GT2.

Did the 993GT2 only have one turbocharger? (Bit of a surprise, that.)

FYI, that single heat shield above the turbine housing reduces heat transfer by about 50% than without the shield. Its very effective and simple.
I found that there is next to no clearance between the k27S housing and my engine sheet metal in order to install one myself on my car. Its just too tight in there.
