With 87000 miles if used in Chicago I would check it out very carefully before getting too interested. It could be ready for some expensive repairs at these miles as it could be mostly city driving and worse yet some salty road use if one of the owners was not an enthustiast. I live near this area and I very seldom buy here for these reasons. Again it could be a decent car but the chances are less than if from a better climate and away from the city and clogged roads,

Steering wheel is not from a 1986...more like a late '70's... But the 3rd brakelight says late 80's though.

A clean '79 Euro with high miles just went for $20K in GA. They are out there but cheap ones go quick.

Tony, I honestly don't know why I am still looking. I have chosen so many nice cheap 930's for my friend to buy and he has passed on them all. Like you, I do not look in the rust belt for cars. I grew up there and know what that environment does to a vehicle. Has to be south of the Mason/Dixon line or known history.

The PO might prefer the 3 spoke over the 4 spoke Carrera wheel. I have a 3 spoke coming in and may put it on my turbo or my sc.
