Injector block is sweating

Hi

I was in the process of changing one of the heater tubes. I had the AC out and saw this:

Should I be worried, or is this OK for now?

Look at the obvious first. Might just be the injector....either the aluminum (or copper?) crush washer, or where the fuel line screws onto the injector. Put a wrench on it, see if it's loose. How's the torque on the two nuts that secure the block?

Jesper:

You either got fluid there from the ac fittings or hose when took the ac off, you could have cracked injector block, leaking injector fitting, or a bad gasket that's not sealing. Take a can of starter fluid and with the engine idling spray around the injection blocks one at a time if any are leaking or are cracked the engine idle will speed up when the area is sprayed.

I have a good set of used blocks if you need them.

Mark and Cole, I'll try the trouble shooting you both suggest tomorrow.

Cole, Thank you for the offer. I've got a set from an 86 myself. don't know if they'll match or if they are up to spec.

I'll do the simple checks first. Needs some things sorted, some of them is Innovate install. related, before I can fire it up again.

Thank you both for your feedback.

Very fortunate to have it in that spot, the other bank is a nightmare.
You might clean the area really well, bone dry, start your car and observe. If is is a fuel leak you shouldsee and smell it pretty quickly.
Is the engine running well?

Thanks Rarly, I'll give it a good clean. We don't have the same products back home hence these simple questions: Would brake cleaner be OK for this job?

The car runs great with the following issues:

1. It is a slow starter when it is cold. I think this is narrowed down to the TTS or CSI.
2. It idles low when cold???
3. When I have driven it to work for a couple of days, I can feel it needs to be "cleared" it can become a little hesitant, but after a highway run everything is good.

So I'd say it runs really good overall.

One last Question does a place like Fastenal carry the correct washers for the injectors and fuel lines? this is the only place locally that might AFAIK.

Brake cleaner works to clean it, but to squirt some on to check for leaks, just make sure it's flammable. Carb clean will do it as well.

I know the fastenal's around here don't have the washers. What about a hydraulic hose shop or similar?

A930rocket, thank you.

I am headed off to see if I can find a shop that can weld on a O2 bung on my Zork. I know one guy who owns a shop here. He knows nothing about P-cars but he knows the area I hope he can point me in the right direction.

Well, the Zork is now at a machine shop hacving the bung TIG welded on. I hope it turns out great.

I have been looking for torques sepc. for the injectors and injector blocks. THe only thing I could find was:
Spar plugs 25-30NM
INTAKE 25NM

I checked the factory manual. Do any of you have these specifications?

Hi

I am trying to find some copper washers for the injectors. Cannot find them here on PP. Fastenal will charge me about $4 a piece and they are on order.
Where can I find these?
Haven't been able to find any hyd./hose shop around. No more wasting time driving around today.

I picked up the Zork. It is OK, but The quality that RarlyL8 provides is not to be expected every where.

Just wanted to post the AFTER pictures, it has now been cleaned.
And yes I worked really hard to make the camera stay out of focus -old crap camera:

The reason I am wanting to buy the washers and all, is because I am considering doing a flow test of the fuel head and the injectors, now that I have dug my way in there.

I'll report later.
