Price

Forgot to mention I would have it for 28K

Owner notes AC and front headlight washers were never used; may not work. Otherwise, all works...

Nice looking car, but since it's missing a turbo you may not get much feedback from this forum!!

If you're looking for input I'd suggest posting on a Canadian specific forum. Availabilty of cars and therefore pricing are quite different in Canada compared to the US.

As always, get a thorough pre-purchase inspection done from a reputable mechanic who's never worked on the car

Punch the VIN here and get the option list to compare;
Porsche VIN Decoder, VIN Lookup, Decode VIN

Run a Carfax.

Dont bother with CarProof... Useless. My car is Canadian Landed Immigrant and they got half the entry that Carfax did at a few time the price They did not bother to reply to my e-mails

Bonne Chance

Thanks

Thanks for the comments...

Have CarFax: Totally clean

125,000 KM (About 78,000 miles)

Thanks for VIN analysis site: Shows Option Code Description
M288 Headlamp washer
M439 Electrical hood operation

and Option Code Possible Description
I383 Vertical seat adjustment, right
I387 Carrera GT bucket seat xt, right

but unknown codes for I139 I158 I286 I340

Can anyone, on code meanings, help...

Also, Cat is OFF; how much of a gain? See pic (No inspection in Québec: we are backwards here; I will have CAT and may reinstall it if it is OK)

As for thread, is it not both Turbo and not turbo; if Turbo only, where is gen 911 thread? Or is it just that most participants have turbo model?

Regards

Welcome. You're looking for the "911 Technical" forum. This is the turbo forum you've posted in. There's also an "Off Topic" and offshoot "Politics and Religion Forum" (PARF) that you've apparently found. You can post about anything in those places.

The car you've picked out looks great. I can already tell you know that the AC doesn't work. No need to guess. Particularly if it hasn't been used in awhile.

I don't have a printout of the options decoder (it's at home), but if no one chimes in I can look up those mystery options for you. Apparently there's a way to do it online, as well. Do a search, as someone posted the link to it last month on this turbo forum.

edit: Found it. Check out post #44 on this thread (over on the Technical forum): What did I just buy? Real or not? Good or bad?

Not sure I would reinstall.

As for "backwards" move to Ontario for a while and you might change your mind We should be able to get cold beer at the corner store in 20...20 but probably not.

Lived in Ottawa for a few years in 1996...

At stock car race (towards Calabogie?), you have beer in a frost fence enclosure, standing up, with cops at door: no beer in the stands!!!

But annual testing of cars for polution pesky, but probably a good thing... None in Québec!!!

I'm in Canada and I just bought my second 911 (first was an sc and now a 1985 930) PM me for prices if you want... 28k seems a bit high... but if the car is perfect then, I don't know. I also just moved from Montréal to here in Victoria, BC.
I can also recommend Campbell Garage (now Campbell Lazar as he is working on a turnover with a new owner for his retirement but Ron will keep working for a few more years there) He is on Melrose Ave in NDG.
I hope this helps

Actually yes but only in BC and Ontario. In Ontario it's not province wide (Windsor-Toronto-Ottawa corridor for cars) and only for 1988 and above.

looks like a nice car and the price probaly not bad but definately at the top. i was toying w/ selling my 88 cab in very similar conditon, mile, options etc and would want around 25-26 for it. soemone in the PCA here looked at it and said what i wanted was inline w/ the market. i decided to keep it and try to sell the tr6 instead.

Why does everyone always put a tail on the back of a carrera, a turbo tail no less! I know "to each his own" but that car is so beautiful without a tail.

i have factory installed carrera tail and i think it helps balance the side view appearance when the top is down withe boot is on. the foloded top makes the car look bulky. i prefer no tail on a narrow body coupe however.
