Yea, Holcombe is very well known and I am sure some of the parts had came from his shop...BUT, 90K spent on the engine...and its still CIS???? I doubt it... and in the video, the guy is showing the twin plugs... he says that you can see the four lower spark plugs on the right side... so, its a flat 8 now??? Might just be a mistake...or someone who has no idea what a 930 is about...

I talked to him about this car. No records from the previous owners to how or when Halcombe built it or able to talk to the recent service shop ( Jones) a well known Porsche tuner/repair shop. Does look like an early build with early parts so a neat car if still running good after 16 years of non use. Also the previous owner is elderly and can't be contacted. Mysterious in these regards however could be a great buy for someone braver than I. Besides I already have some great builds so I can be cautious. Neat color, My first 930 many years ago was this color. Sort of from the gold chain 80s era so it is nostalgic in that way also. I like it.

Wow, sold for $38,500. Looks like there is a good market for a modded euro 930 with no records and still needing work on the unevenly restored interior and paint lifting on hood. On a 21000 mile car why would it need anything if well taken care of? Lots of questions but a Holcombe built motor is a good one. In the video the car did not seem that fast and the repeat no load revving for sound effects seemed somewhat abusive. Lots of duplicate transmission repairs pushed up the claimed investment in this one besides a motor built to this level should not have cost anywhere near his claimed amount performed back in the 80s. Maybe the buyer drove it and was satisfied however with no records and not able to get a PPI or speak to the original owner or the current shop that serviced it. No way to buy this one "over the phone".

Or the car really did not sell, and it was a friend of the buyers bidding on it to "fluff" up the price... Not saying it didnt sell, but that could be a possiblilty

Did he bid against himself? Watch this video of "the seller," and you be the judge...

Wow, there were a ton of bids on that car. Sounds nice, raspy. What surprised me was that no one picked up on the smoking from that motor yet still placed bids. Looks like a bid frenzy. Good to see this kind of action on the older modded 930's.
