my 1985 930 is home

This will be my first post on here but i thought i would share my car with all of you as i have just got it back after 18 months having ungone a rebuild and upgrade.I brought the car for the sum of £13k knowing that mechanically it was very good having covered 78000 miles with full sevice history and the last owner having it for 14 years previous to verify this, the problem lied in the body as it looked like the car only got washed when it had a service. I thought long and hard how i wanted the car to look and opted for the later style as i found the lines more pleasing to me two new front wings were fitted along with two rear quarters (these were second hand but mint) then a later sytle body kit was added along with a colour coded spoiler and clear lenses all repainted in original colour of perrisian blue.On the wheel front i opted for a set of 18*9 and 18*11.5 fitted with 235/40 and 295/35 techart daytonas colour matched to car.The head lamps had a zeon kit fitted to improve night driving. Both engine and gearbox mounts were changed to wevo semi solid items, the gearbox was stripped rebuilt to get rid of a notchy third gear when put back i had a wevo short shift kit along with new billet clamp, psjand gear knob the clutch was changed to a light weight item along with a light weight steel flywheel from patrick motorsport . The suspension has been upgraded to elephant racing street/track2 kit along with ASP ang quick change splined hubs , brakes were given a overhaul this is the area i may decide to upgrade at a later date.when it came to the engine i started of thinking a few bolt on extras would do but then decided to have a full engine rebuild so as to eliminate future problems all new bearings shells stud ext were fitted. the engine modifcations were as follows.
964 cams, powerhaus heads with matched 36mm injector blocks and manifold . the heads had extra sealing ring of which i had my barrels machined to suit. A new air filter system was fitted along with a tial 46mm wastegate fitted with 1 bar spring and a forge motorsport blow of valve. For the intercooler i opted for a blownsix full width race item and the turbo was a k27hfs,the warm up regulator was sent to brian leask for modifcation and i also purchased new solinoid to copliment this fianally the exhaust was a full fabspeed item. After all of the above was done the only area left untouched was the interior i did not want his to jump out at you so i had it retrimmed in original blue with charcoal centers and piping door cards have also been done. i am very pleased with final result it now stand me in at £36k including buying the car and to me its worth every penny it handels well performs well and looks as i wanted it

Thanks for your welcome and your comments good to hear people like the car so far , I say so far because as you all most proberly know these cars are never quite finished as you always seem to come across something that catches your eye and of it goes again .My latest has come from a thread on here (what type of console is this?) the picture i saw set the mind going and the very next day i was down the shop buying some materials to build such an item i have so far spent 5 working hours on it and its formed ready for its final fit in the car when the weather is better and i can remove seats and scribe the final detail under the dash once this is done i will fine fill all areas that need it with body filler cut all holes for clock and switches then it can go to trimmers to be done in blue leather on sides and charcoal in center. I wish to move clock from dash into console and fit 2 bar boost guage in its place .If any one knows how much an andial one is that would be a help as i am struggling to find price from GB.Final cost of console will come out at around $280 including materials and trimming but not including new guage. Also if someone knows how to put a link from this to the thread i mentioned as someone on there may be interest and i havent got a clue how to do it

Congrats, such a sharp-looking car. I love that color!

The center console looks great too, nice work. Are you set on the Andial gauge, or are you open to other brands also?

VDO Vision and Cockpit series both offer a very clean, simple and classic look that matches the factory instrumentation well, Omori is another consideration.

nice job with great lines, looks very similar to mine. I have a strotek body kit with similar brake cooling ports along the sides and very similar bumbers. I bought mine last year as is. Mine is a 73 911e, 2.4 motor rebuilt 901 tranny (not 915 factory) the paint is 1985 Nissan blue so I 've been told and I've recieved many a compliments on the colour as I'm sure you will too.
Welcome to the site and yes the work never stops.

What size is the factory clock? 45mm? 52mm?

I've used VDO gauges extensively as inexpensive, simple and functional solutions for many projects. I would recommend either the Vision or Cockpit series as the closest match to the stock gauge cluster.

VDO Vision Black Series Gauges from egauges.com

VDO Cockpit Black Series Gauges from egauges.com

If I remember correctly, the latest Omori gauges are also available with user-adjustable lighting, so you should be able to get a relatively close match to the factory lighting, which is a nice feature.

J-Spec Tuning

One more option is Stack, and they also recently released a new line of gauges that are color-adjustable and have a neat feature that changes the lighting color as a warning mode when approaching max boost.

STACK 52mm Auxiliary Gauges: Pro-Control

The car has nearly done it's running in and it won't be long before it goes on the rolling road to get final tweaks and see what bhp it produces. This is where my question lies any one out there have any idea of what it should produce given the engine upgrades that have been done? Let's see how close you can get
