It's amazing how strong these cars run in the cool dry air... it got me wondering what this thing would do down the 1/4 mile?
![]() It would be tricky to launch for sure, and then trying to shift the clumsy 4 speed quickly would be the next challenge. ![]() Anyone here ever do it?

The tall gearing in first with the 4 speed isn't very conductive for a good launch from a dig.
Best I ever got on a hot florida day with street tires was the mid 13s. |

I run mine down a 1/4 mile everytime I drive it, just before the 1/2 mile and 3/4 mile, leading to the 1 mile and beyond.
It would be interesting to do it for real, but I don't relish the stress it would have with the tall first gear launch. I'm just as happy to do a roling start then stomp on it. And yes, really cold air makes a huge difference in power as with even a NA car, but more so pronounced with intercooled/turbocharged engines IMO.

Maybe a top speed thread would have been more in order! ![]()
