Air intake ducting?
Does anyone know if this SCAT ducting can be used between the air filter and turbo compressor inlet?
It has metal reinforcement and is very tough. Unlikely to collapse under load. SCAT AIRCRAFT DUCTING from Aircraft Spruce |

Sure it can but the inside is not the best surface for a smooth airflow.

Thanks.
What does it mean by "Not recommended for negative pressure applications"? Does the intake side of the turbo become negative pressure under load? |

Yes the intake side of the turbo compressor is vacuum all the time while engine is running..more so when under full spool!
Even having the steel reinforcement it would probably collapse inward. That stuff would work well for brake ducting. And as RarlyL8 stated..smooth surface is the best for airflow into the compressor. Chris |

I think I will use the SCEET ducting instead, which has the steel reinforcement between the two layers of silicone rubber, so it's smoother and has less frictional loss.
It's a street car, so no prolonged boost driving... just occasional bursts. |
