'87 930 exhaust with turbo - keep it or part it out?

I've removed the stock '87 exhaust and turbo from my 3.3 and am wondering if I should keep it for future use, sell it complete, or part it out.

Well that's a tough one for some. Me, I have kept all original parts should the time ever come to sell my car....and should the upcoming buyer be bound and determined to have a stock car. By the time that comes, eBay will have defaulted and all those parts will no longer have a market...or perhaps, those parts will be worth gold. Who knows?
But if that's not a concern, then sell the stuff to help finance all the other add-ons that will make your car so much more fun to drive.

I think Mark makes some good points...stash it away, since the day may come when someone else may need it if they buy the car. The lack of it may be a deal-breaker.

Sell it and help fund your transplant.
The engine is not in a 930 so the parts have no value for originality in that application.
However, the complete system would have value to a 930 owner who bought a modified car and now wishes to restore back to stock.

i am in the situation where i have a full B&B system with a straight dump pipe and a k27. i am looking to buy the parts to go back to stock if i want to. i know the muffler on this sytsem is not correct fo a 79, but is the rest of the system the same for a 79? I was leaning towards looking for a full euro system off a 78-79.

Finance your replacement headers and sell it complete to someone looking to do a turbo conversion. I know there are folks out there looking...

Charles, The78-79 system is different than the later system as pictured. I believe Euro 930 from early 80s on and US systems from 1986 are what is pictured. Tony

This will fit a 79

Cellison,

This will all bolt on a '79, I have a '79 and am in the process of completely revamping a 87-89 system for my car, should be going out for ceramic coat next week. The only difference to a 78-79 euro system is the J - pipe has O2 bung and 8mm-1.0 probe bung, other then that its the same alias the muffler, which is quieter and has 2 outlets not 1, like the original 79. If you wanted an original 79 muffler, I know where a proper one is... if interested.

I am check fitting all the later model parts this weekend if all goes well, prior to sending out to ceramic coating. You will need the Kidney shaped oil catch can, along with suction line to the cam driven Scavenge pump for the turbo... hit me up on here if you want more details...
Ben

Laughac,

If you end up parting out your stock exhaust sytem, I would be interested in the Wastegate muffler, or if any one else in this thread has one, RarlyL8? do you have any take offs?, please hit me up, I still need one. Not sure if I will bolt it on, but want one to strip and send out with the rest of my parts for ceramic coat so everything matches, and in case I need it when I go to smog the cars.
Thanks,! Ben
