DC AUTOMOTIVE. Incompetent or scammers? NEED HELP
Background here: WTB Trailing arm for 79 930. Left side.
There are several things making the 77 trailing arm different than the 78- and here`s what happened. Note that i have NEVER been so mad before!! EVER! 1. The holes for the handbrake backplate and dustcover don`t match at all. I actually got some hours of dremel work and got it fitted eventually BUT 2. The strut bolt hole on the 77, or at least the one i got is not threaded for the bolt. Then i`m stranded trying to find a 14cm long bolt with a nut! FOOK 3. The hole for control arm or the end of the stabilizer bar is threaded but not with the original thread. Unknown size and the hunt continues! FOOK 4. There are small "tabs" of aluminum i had to remove to get the handbrake cable inserted. FOOK Question is if i got scammed or are these guys really this incompetent? He even said when i tried to confirm the fitment with a cheesy line "that`s why i offered it" making me look stupid to ask? I don`t mind buying high priced parts but this is ridiculous!!! The car was supposed to go into periodic control but forget it. I have no idea if i can even make this work at all at this point. Should i just file a paypal claim and start tearing this up? So far this has cost me almost $2000 and i don`t know if i even can get it to work. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() PLEASE HELP |

I've always had good luck buying new/used parts from DC auto. I'm sorry that your having trouble.
Have you called them and tried to work out any sort of patial refund based on your hardship?

What numbers are on the arm? You are correct in that the 75-77 930 arms are different. Another BIG difference is in how the calipers attach. The 75-77 930's had basically the same brakes as an S. The Big turbo brakes did not come along until 78. Verify that the arm has the correct part number to even work with your brakes. If not, I would start to look for a suitable replacement.
As for DC, I have had good dealings with them in the past.

I am sorry to say that those 2 parts of your post have you screwed in a paypal claim because you have modified the part And there are people here that have had good dealings with him but all you have to do is search and you will see there are just as many who have had poor dealings and I am one of them I would advise you too go to Oklahoma Foreign and see if they have one and stay as far away from DC auto as you can.
