what happened to Brian Leask?

I have been trying to contact Brian Leask about converting my WUR to one of his units but he is not returning calls or email.

Anyone know what happened to him or is his contact info changed from whats on his website currently?

Any info appreciated as this is the second week now I have been unsuccessful.

Anyone know his Pelican forum name so I can PM him, and give that a shot?

Fred

No it is a different guy, but thanks for the info anyway. I believe Leask is somewhere in California or west coast.

Dammit this is gonna effect my engine break in because I am installing it back in the car next weekend. Dont want to run it with the stock WUR.

His contact info from when I ordered mine is as follows
13243 Waltham Ave
Poway CA 92064
930wur@cox.net
or
Adjustable 930 WUR Website
I still have mine #AWUR930HD in the box along with the RPM CSV which is the RPM controlled Solenoid Valve Kit for standard Bosch & standard Ignitions with all instruction manuals for each. never used. When we got into mine we found the WUR had already been made adjustable and along with the Andial and Miller Woods enrichment systems ( old school ) but were able to get enough AFR thru the RPM range once we got everything synchronized. I do not need it just now so if you cannot get ahold of Brian I may let it go on an exchange basis (as Brian does ) + what I paid, if your stock WUR is still good or for what I paid for it plus the going rate for a good stock WUR if yours is shot or you want to keep it.

BL is a little difficult to contact so I wouldn't assume anything is wrong just yet.
I don't build adjustable WUR's anymore as BL does a great job at it and I don't have time. He machines my cores and we work together to tune and customize as needed.
I keep these setups in stock as that helps us both out as well as the client. Refundable core charge is $150.

I HOPE things are ok......typing too fast.

Thank you, things are getting better every day. Most have power now and the cleanup continues.

You have a PM.

Brian (Leask) can get busy and sometimes takes a little while to get back to you.

I contacted him about 5-6 weeks ago regarding my BL WUR which wasn't holding pressure.

He said post it to him and he will take care of it.

I offered to pay for parts and postage and he wouldn't have a bar of it.

He fixed it up like new and sent it back (back to Australia). I have just got around to putting it back in.

Have patience. IIRC the 930wur@cox.net was the address I got through on.

Has anyone found him yet??

Both my mechanic and I have been calling him since Friday.

I have an issue with one of his wur's that I am trying to install on my 930. The disk where the 2 banjo fittings attach is loose and it changes my fuel pressure as it rotates around. According to my mechanic and others, the disk is not supposed to move at all.

My car is strapped the dyno as I write this, so I am in a huge jam!

JBL930 05-31-2011 03:16 PM

Why don't you open the WUR up and have a look? It sounds like a two minute fix

1986911 05-31-2011 03:38 PM

I wanted to get the OK from him to open. I did not want any problems due to "tampering." If I cannot get a hold of him, it will be my next step.

Anyone know what holds that disk where the fuel hose connect??

I just had Brian do my WUR recently. He had initially stated a week turnaround time, which actually turned into about 4 weeks. He did indicate that he was very busy, and I believe there was also some travel involved in his schedule.

Nonetheless, worth the wait. Car runs fantastic, and the enrichment delay produced noticeable improvements in low end responsiveness. I'll be taking the car on a trip from CO to AZ this weekend, so I'll have some fuel mileage data as well.

He still has not returned my calls or emails. So I figure he doesn't like me. Hmmm?
I hope he gets around to at least getting back to me. It only takes 5 minutes to respond.
But I do not want to wait 4-5 weeks to get a unit converted for me.....thats half the summer gone.

Fred... didja miss that Brian B sells the BLWUR's as well?

I just got one from him, he's got my core currently out being re-innard'd - maybe it's not spoken for yet?

1986911 06-01-2011 02:56 PM

Got wur issue solved! Had disk pressed back in and staked in place.

Thanks!!!

Sounds like someone sould take over his business, if he says 1 week and it turns out to be 4 then there is a problem, either he is neglecting his work or is so busy that there is room for someone else to take over the slack.
