Nice 951. I thought about getting one of those to supplement the 930. I ended up with a 928S4 instead (always liked them). The liquid cooled front engine cars are fantastic in their own right, though no substitute for the air-cooled 9s (but what is?). These days I pick whatever best suits the mood. In either case, I find that driving any one of these fine German autos is an occasion in itself.

I also have a 951 and it is modified. All bolt on , turbo, exhaust, wastegate, injectors and chips. I LOVE THE CAR. For the money it does everything so good. My son drives it know and every once in a while I take it for a ride and it amazes me how good of a car it is. With bolt on ugrades you can get 300-350WHP and it really goes too.

My son loves that pic. When I first saw it , I was like what did he do now. He posted it on facebook and that is where I saw it for the first time.

Very Nice! 944 Turbo = 951?
I did not know that. I have thought about a 944S or 944 Turbo for a daily driver. How is the Maint on those cars?

Awesome cars - I esp love the seating position (and the view of the flanks in your door mirror), and the "light the wick" feeling when it comes on boost. They hit hard, which I love. Powerband onset / hit is very similar to that of my former urS6 (i5t @ 22psi).
Colleague here's prob selling his saaweeeeeet fully sorted burgundy / tan '87, ~125k, sick wheels and chip / wastegate / boost controller - if anyone's looking. I always enjoy seat time in it. Car is sexy gorgeous! But - alas... I'd not drive it more than my 930 had I both 8-). Nope. Alot, but not more... |

I almost went down a similar route with the 944 / 51 but ended up deciding to go down the path of no return and restore my 74' Celica. ( I am pleased, but the 944/51 is tempting, sadly no more parking space. ) haha
